Job Title: Tax Senior

Reports to: Senior Tax Manager

Job Summary: The Tax Senior is responsible for preparing corporate, partnership and individual tax returns and assisting in client management and practice development activities. The Tax Senior will also support tax consulting services.

Salary Range and Benefits: Commensurate with experience, standard firm benefits

Hours Required: 40 hrs + OT

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Implement client’s engagements from start to finish, (planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects).
  • Prepare tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals.
  • Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve tax – related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Assist on tax consulting projects, proposals and business development calls.
  • Possess an understanding of federal, international, state and local tax issues.
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary.

Requirements & Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting, preferably in tax compliance and consulting experience.
  • Broad exposure to federal and state income taxation and knowledge of tax regulations.
  • Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance.
  • Tax research and international tax experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).

Education and Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable.
  • CPA certification (active) preferred.
