Houston, TX, June 1, 2015 – MaloneBailey, LLP, a global public accounting firm based in Houston, Texas, announced today that Senior Audit Managers Jeff Labay, CPA and Jimmy Thompson, CPA have each been promoted to Audit Partner in the firm’s Houston office and Jaddy Wang, CPA has been promoted to partner in the firm’s Shenzhen office in China. Both Labay and Thompson started at MaloneBailey in 2006 directly from college. Wang joined the firm in 2010 as an Audit Manager and played a key role in opening the firm’s first overseas office in Shenzhen.

Labay joined MaloneBailey in 2006 as an Audit Staff. His focus is nearly exclusively dedicated to oil & gas companies with 95% of his clients who are upstream companies. Additionally, Labay has played a lead role in developing firm-wide oil and gas accounting and audit training materials. His oil and gas expertise was highlighted in an article he published along with other MaloneBailey colleagues, in the summer 2012 edition of Petroleum Accounting and Financial Management titled “Auditors Perspective: Mistakes Made by Small Public Oil & Gas Companies.” He was recognized by the Houston Chronicle in December 2013 because of his experience as a floor hand on an oil rig in his early twenties and how that has impacted his career as an auditor of upstream oil and gas companies.
Thompson also joined MaloneBailey in 2006. He specializes in audits of small and micro cap public companies in a variety of industries and has experience with public company accounting issues, including stock-based compensation, reverse mergers, debt restructurings, derivatives and SEC financial reporting. Thompson serves clients in a variety of industries including mining, telecommunications, advertising, manufacturing, technology, various service industries as well as development and exploration stage companies.
Wang is based in MaloneBailey’s Shenzhen office and oversees its day-to-day operations. She leads a team that focuses on conducting audits of financial statements and other assurance services, including special reports, SEC compliance, debt compliance, reviews of interim data, internal control reviews and more. Wang brings six years of Big 4 experience. Prior to joining MaloneBailey in 2010, she served as an Audit Manager at the Houston office of Ernst & Young LLP.
Labay, Thompson and Wang are integral to the firm’s in-house training and recruiting programs and they all serve as mentors to several MaloneBailey staff and seniors.

Labay received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Houston – Victoria, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston – Victoria.
Thompson received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Houston, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also received his Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Houston.
Wang is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Business Administration degree from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Chongqing University in Chongqing, China.
